In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us, “I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep.”

Everyone is welcomed to the flock by Jesus.
We too, must act faithfully to reach out to all individuals, especially those who feel neglected or abandoned. As Jesus committed His life to being the “one shepherd”, we too must commit ourselves as Catholics, to providing service to all.

There are several diocesan ministries and programs that offer help for those who feel estranged and marginalized by society. As baptized Christians, it is our shared responsibility to respond to Jesus’ command to love and serve one another.

The Annual Catholic Appeal provides financial support for a wide range of spiritual, pastoral, and educational services that assist not only the poor and suffering, but anyone who seeks assistance regardless of age, race or social class. Many thanks to those who have responded to the 2021 Annual Catholic Appeal your generosity is deeply appreciated.

How Can I Help?

First of all, thanks for asking.

You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God, for the administration of this public service is not only supplying the needs of the holy ones but is also overflowing in many acts of thanksgiving to God.

We’re all in some pain and uncertainty here. Life goes on, but we’re unsure of how we can meet its many needs in these times.

Our parish has much the same difficulty. Obviously a lot has been curtailed, but we’re working very hard to do what we can; for example, we are streaming mass in the mornings. We’re using our website, MyParish app, and Facebook page to keep in touch and to provide spiritual resources for all of you. And, our support of those in our community who are less fortunate must continue.

All of this requires resources of one kind or another. Even when those resources are something like a building, we still need to provide funds to keep things going. The problem is, most of our revenue comes from our Sunday collection. And, for obvious reasons, that’s just not there anymore.

We need your help.

Now, we realize that some of you have financial challenges right now. But, if you are financially able to do so at this time, would you consider continuing your support of the parish, so that we can continue our good work? You can drop your contribution in the “SECURE” mail box outside the door to the Parish Office (on the right side of the door) or send a check for your regular donation to us in the mail at:

St. Ann Church
691 Garfield Avenue
Bethany Beach, DE 19930

Better yet, consolidate your donations and send us a single check, rather than having to remember each week. And, best yet: Consider giving on line, as many of your fellow parishioners already do. Just click below, and you can sign up in just a few minutes.

And whatever you are able to do, please pray for our parish and for those who are suffering in these difficult times.
