2020 Annual Catholic Appeal

“Seeing Christ in the Faces of Others”

For Your Information: The Annual Catholic Appeal
is still in progress. Our parish goal is $184,000. So
far, we have $170,000 pledged and $152,000
collected. If you have not yet pledged/gifted to the
Appeal, it is not too late to do so. Appeal envelopes
can be found at both churches.

“No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is brought to perfection in us.” 1 John 4:14.

The Annual Catholic Appeal, with its theme, “Seeing Christ in the Faces of Others” continues throughout our diocese. Funds raised though the Appeal bring hope, comfort, compassion and love into the lives of many people. Appeal supported ministries touch thousands of individuals and families throughout Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore providing essential service that knows no race, no age, no social class, but rather knows only those who come to the Church for help are special in the eyes of Our Lord.
Now more than ever, these ministries are needed. Your support demonstrates your compassion and concern for God’s people and your willingness to share your blessings with those in need.

During the week of June 1, you may receive a mailing from Bishop Malooly inviting your participation in the Annual Catholic Appeal. For those of you who have given to this year’s Appeal, thank you for your generosity. For those who have not, please prayerfully consider supporting this important effort.

How Can I Help?

First of all, thanks for asking.

You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God, for the administration of this public service is not only supplying the needs of the holy ones but is also overflowing in many acts of thanksgiving to God.

2 CORINTHIANS 9:11-12

We’re all in some pain and uncertainty here. Life goes on, but we’re unsure of how we can meet its many needs in these times.

Our parish has much the same difficulty. Obviously a lot has been curtailed, but we’re working very hard to do what we can; for example, we’re experimenting with streaming mass in the mornings. We’re using our website, MyParish app, and Facebook page to keep in touch and to provide spiritual resources for all of you. And, our support of those in our community who are less fortunate must continue.

All of this requires resources of one kind or another. Even when those resources are something like a building, we still need to provide funds to keep things going. The problem is, most of our revenue comes from our Sunday collection. And, for obvious reasons, that’s just not there anymore.

We need your help.

Now, we realize that some of you have financial challenges right now. But, if you are financially able to do so at this time, would you consider continuing your support of the parish, so that we can continue our good work? You can drop your contribution in the “SECURE” mail box outside the door to the Parish Office (on the right side of the door) or send a check for your regular donation to us in the mail at:

St. Ann Church
691 Garfield Avenue
Bethany Beach, DE 19930

Better yet, consolidate your donations and send us a single check, rather than having to remember each week. And, best yet: Consider giving on line, as many of your fellow parishioners already do. Just click below, and you can sign up in just a few minutes.

And whatever you are able to do, please pray for our parish and for those who are suffering in these difficult times.
