. . . You can dig for him there.” – George Bernard Shaw
For years now, the St. Ann Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been gardening in Frankford, in a plot next to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The goal of the dozens of Vincentians who have volunteered there is simple: To feed the hungry. To feed our neighbors. Every Thursday, during the growing season, the garden enables us to provide, not only store-bought groceries but a variety of fresh vegetables – and, yes, flowers – to those neighbors who need help to provide for their families.
We thought you’d enjoy seeing a few pictures from our garden. It’s growing, not only vegetables, but growing in size as well. If you are interested in helping with the garden, or with any of the other activities of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, please get in touch with us – you can learn more by going here.
