The AARP Tax-Aide program will again offer free tax return assistance and preparation, for Seniors and taxpayers with low and moderate incomes, at St. Ann’s Masterson Center.
Our volunteers may only prepare returns for which they have been trained. This training does not include rental property or business income that involves depreciation or inventories. In addition, we cannot prepare returns for taxpayers who own digital assets, such as virtual/crypto currencies, as this is outside of AARP’s scope.
Similar to last year, taxpayers will remain in their cars while their tax returns are being prepared; volunteers will retrieve documents from taxpayers through the car window. However, when tax returns are completed, taxpayers will be invited inside for a review of their tax return.
Volunteers will be preparing 2022 Federal and State tax returns on Mondays through Wednesdays from February 6th to April 12th . If you are interested, please call 302-858-3575 between the hours of 9am and 3pm beginning Monday January 16, to schedule an appointment. Do NOT call the St. Ann Church office for this service.
Prior to your appointment you MUST pick up an AARP-required Intake Form, along with a checklist of items you must bring to your appointment. These can be picked up from a box outside the side entrance of the Masterson Center (the door across from Delaney Hall). Please complete the Intake form PRIOR to your appointment and bring it with you to your appointment, along with all applicable items from the list provided. You may request to have these documents emailed to you but you must be able to print them and bring them with you to your appointment; the completed documents cannot be returned by email.
