Make the Most of this Outreach
June 22 & 23

More than ever, poor families in developing countries are relying on Catholic missions for assistance with food, water, shelter, medical care and spiritual nourishment. That’s why the work of Cross Catholic Outreach is so important. It supplies those urgent needs. The Outreach Priest visiting us in June will share stories about the amazing work Catholic missions are accomplishing around the world. It’s an inspiring message every Catholic should hear. Right now, our world desperately needs the radical compassion Christ lived out. When we help poor families, we show the watching world that our Lord’s love remains as powerful and transformative as ever before.

Fr. Sergio Serrano, OP is a member of the Dominican Province of San Martín de Porres, in the southern United States. He has served as pastor and parish administrator to parishes in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and in Ecuador. He is currently the Director of the Hispanic Apostolate for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He is the host of the podcast “La Biblia en un Año”, which debuted in 2022, and is the Spanish-language companion to the popular “Bible in a Year” podcast with Father Mike Schmitz. Fr. Serrano is grateful for his travels around the world and within the U.S. where he meets people who share the values of many cultures and contribute new experiences in his life. Fr. Serrano believes that as an Outreach Priest for Cross Catholic Outreach, he can help share Jesus’ message with us, to invite each other to help the most needy and vulnerable people. In the ministry of helping others, our lives are significantly impacted as well as those we are serving, which changes the circumstances of our lives.
