For 50 years, this appeal has united many hands in one mission: serving those in need, forming our faith, and ensuring the Church’s growth for generations to come. This year, participation matters more than ever. For every parishioner who gives for the first time, 50% of their donation will stay right here in our parish to support our own ministries and local needs. Once our parish reaches its overall goal, we also receive a share of funds raised beyond that goal – strengthening our community even further.
One of the organizations benefitting from the Faith and Charity Catholic Appeal is our diocesan Catholic Charities outreach organization. Catholic Charities addresses our neighbors’ human suffering by providing services to families and individuals in need, particularly those most vulnerable, marginalized, and underserved.
Some examples of their many programs include:
- Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Bethany House family shelter for the homeless
- the Seton community center, providing health, food, and other services to 6,000 persons
- Basic Needs counseling services
- Behavioral Health Services
- Marydale Retirement Village
- Casa San Francisco homeless shelter and food assistance program
Reminder: the Catholic Appeal is ongoing. Once again, you, our parishioners, have been very generous in responding to this request for help. Many of you have made a pledge or given a gift, and we thank you for your response.
If you have not already, would you consider making a pledge? If you have, can you follow your pledge with a one-time gift? Whatever you can give, large or small, does make a real difference.
