The Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens, OCIA (formerly called RCIA) will take place on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd at the 10:30 Mass at St. Ann’s. The Catechumens – persons seeking to learn more about the Catholic Church – will be moving into the next stage of this process. They are now ready to publicly declare their intention to continue their journey towards becoming Catholics. In preparation for Baptism, they are asked to more fully embrace the Gospel message, and are signed with the Cross to show that they now belong to Christ, the Shepherd of souls. This Rite places the Catechumens in a formal relationship with the universal Church.
The Rite of Welcoming for Candidates will also take place on Sunday, November 23rd at the 10:30 Mass at St. Ann’s. This Rite is intended for inquirers who have been baptized previously and wish to continue their journey toward full Communion with the Catholic Church. During the Rite of Welcoming, they are asked if the are ready to listen to the apostles’ instruction, gather with the worshiping community in prayer, and join that community in love and service of others. They are signed with the Cross to show that they belong to Christ.
PLEASE WELCOME AND PRAY FOR OUR CATECHUMENS AND CANDIDATES as they continue in their spiritual journey!!
