Eucharist and Migrant Justice
April 19

Dr. James Starke will be returning to St. Ann to present “Journey in a Foreign Land: Eucharist and Migrant Justice”.

All are invited to attend on April 19 from 1:30pm to 3:00pm in Delaney Hall.

Vatican II teaches that the church on earth journeys in a foreign land. Through the celebration of the liturgy, Christians are strengthened for this journey and the Church is built up along the way “as a sign lifted up among the nations.” Drawing on Catholic social teaching and liturgical practices, Dr. Starke shows how Eucharist, as the celebration of the People of God “in a foreign land,” fosters solidarity and calls participants to be prophetic signs of justice.

Dr. James Starke is Director of Liturgy, Associate Professor of Systematic & Liturgical Theology, Chair, Department of Systematic & Liturgical Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary and University, Baltimore, Maryland.
